Sometimes the good ideas are just right in front of us, aren’t they? Melbourne Museum has always been useful for a day spent babysitting the niece and/or nephew (other options include Melbourne Zoo or plonking them down in front of Frozen for the 17th time), but this thing is next level…
Starting Friday 7 July, the Museum is launching a monthly series of after dark, adults-only events called Nocturnal, a program designed to turn the venue into “the ultimate adult playground”.
What does that mean exactly? It means monthly Friday night lounge bars with sick lighting installations and headline acts like Dorsal Fins and Jakubi. There’ll be pop-up food stalls, bartenders mixing highballs, signature cocktails, unseen museum collections and roving live entertainment. Basically an epic new monthly post-work knock-off session. Complete with dinosaurs. You can check out the full program here, but most of its TBC at this point.
You can grab tickets for $35 at the door or $25 if you pre-book. A night at the museum that doesn’t include Ben Stiller? We’re there.
