Same-Day Booze Delivery Is Back…And You Can Order Baked Treats Too!

If someone had told our grandparents that we would be able to order booze to be delivered to our doorsteps via these handy beeping devices that we know as smartphones, I think they would have agreed that humanity has reached its pinnacle of advancement. Welcome to the future, Gran, because online booze delivery is back thanks to the good folk at Blackhearts and Sparrows.

Hot on the heels of Liquor Run, Melbourne’s alcohol delivery service that is currently on temporary hiatus, Blackhearts and Sparrows have teamed up with YourGrocer to offer same-day delivery if you place a drinks order before 1pm. Couldn’t be bothered lugging those froffies back from the bottle shop, or having a particularly bad morning? These guys have the answer.

Unlike services that have run before it, Blackhearts and Sparrows offers a broad variety of drinks in a snapshot of their full stock. “We've always preferred customers to come into our store for the full Blackhearts experience but we understand not everyone has time to,” says Jess Ghaie, who founded the bottle shop in 2005 with her brother.

“Being our first foray into the world of on-line, we've kept to the top hits for most of the offering with plans to expand the range once we have a better idea of what people are really enjoying. Some of the more interesting wines currently on the list are the Axiom Pinot Gris, Wirrega Tempranillo (made by the family of a staff member) and the Zangre Rose for an excellent value French wine.”

The savvy bottle shop isn’t the only one getting in on the action. Rustica Sourdough are teaming up with YourGrocer too, along with a host of top grocers, fish mongers and butchers, meaning you can order more than just your beers for the week. Talk about making life easier on us hard-working Listers…

The service is currently running in a range of suburbs, with delivery a bargain at $7.99. Hop on over to YourGrocer and enter your postcode to get started, and order us a six-pack while you’re there, yeah?
