Swing by P.J. O’Briens this Thursday and you’ll see something strange: a frenzy of bodies and pumping elbows, occasional bits of shell and mollusc catapulting into the air, and a hundred people slurping like crazy.
Yup, the annual all-you-can-eat OysterFest is back, and the oceans shall tremble.
Here’s how it works. You rock up at P.J’s at 6:30pm this Thursday. You’ve then got two hours to eat as many hot and cold oysters as you want. Natural, pepped up with Tobasco, squeeze of lemon, full Kilpatrick, whatever you want.
Tickets are $79pp, but that includes Guinness, cider, beer, sparkling, wine, live music, door prizes, oyster experts roaming around (God knows why. That’ll just slow us down...) and even a Whisky & Oyster Stall (now we’re talking).
Tickets for this usually sell out pretty quick, so get shucking.
