Melbourne’s CBD laneways are set to be treated to a brand spanking new kid on the block in the form of Rustica Canteen.
It’s hard to not get excited when you hear about a venture that is the brainchild of three of Melbourne’s most beloved foodie masterminds. The trio includes Brenton Lang (Rustica Sourdough), Tristan White (Head Chef at Ladro and Touchwood), and Matt Vero (Coin Laundry, Tall Timber, Touchwood and The Marquis of Lorne Hotel).
Rustica Canteen will be opening later in August, treating the CBD folk to the kind of high quality, fresh local ingredients that have become synonymous with the trios previous projects.
The menu will be wholesome and diverse—think everything from quinoa and coconut cream pudding to garlic and rosemary lamb shoulder. And Rustica’s famed sourdough will, of course, feature prominently.
We also hear that Rustica Canteen is going to be a tough one for the sweet tooths among us to resist, dishing up a range of delicately made pastries and deserts such as Ispahan croissants and choux bombs.
Situated at 33 Guildford Lane, Rustica Canteen will soon be bringing its relaxed A-Game to Melbourne’s laneways.
