Everyone loves high tea, I mean what’s not to love? A selection of tasty delights, tea and good times—it always leaves you feeling a little fancier than your usual Sunday arvo activities.
But while always hitting the spot, the humble high tea has been in clear need to it being taken up a notch, and that’s about to happen in Melbourne.
To celebrate the amazing pastry scene that Melbourne has on offer, Grub has teamed up with the legends at Flour Market to create Sweet Set—a selection of eight dessert afternoons that will run across August and September.
Every Sunday will bring together a tasting menu that’s been curated by pastry royalty and will feature the likes of Pierre Roelofs, Phillippa Sibley, Jo Barrett, Cob Lane, LuxBite, Bibelot, Citizen Cacao, Fit & Salt and All Are Welcome’s Boris Portnoy.
It all kicks off on August 6 when Phillippa Sibley and Pierre Roelofs will collaborate on a dessert menu for the first time that will explore the light and the dark and explore flavours like rose, geranium and mandarin, chocolate, caramel and nut combinations in a series of plated desserts.
We’ve got it on good authority that there will be desserts that will be made especially for these events and not available in any store, so it’s definitely not one to miss.
