Dust off your best and brightest colours, because Queen Victoria Market is about to be taken over by vibrant colours, flavours and the culture of India with a two-day Indian festival this month.

In a first for the market, Queen Street will be transformed into the famous Chandni Chowk of Delhi and will feature specialty foods, traditional music, artisanal crafts, cultural displays and entertainment.

Market-goers will get the chance to warm up on a cold July day with a hot cup of chai, rich curries, warm breads and—of course—traditional Indian sweet treats.

If you’re a bit keen on upping your IQ on Indian cuisine there will be cooking demonstrations all weekend long, running you through Indian ingredients and how to use authentic Indian spices—take it easy on the turmeric.

To go with the great selection of things to eat comes a Bollywood dance workshop with traditional Indian dancers and amazing musicians that will only make your day even better.
