There’s a new way to drink yourself pink. Combining our childhood love for sweet slushy drinks with a touch (or not) of adult refinement, barbie-pink frosé is the latest summery drink to hit the streets.
Essentially rosé wine dumped into a slushie machine, served with a teensy straw in a wine glass (because, class), self-declared wine connoisseurs should probably look away now.
King of Japanese on Chapel Street, Mr Miyagi’s candy coloured frosé has been making rounds on Instagram. A combination of rosé, strawberries and a touch of sugar to give the drink a slurpable consistency, this sparkly frosé concoction is then topped with a delicate flower. Needless to say, it’s the most photogenic summer cocktails we’ve seen all year.
Set to open in late October, Stokehouse’s downstairs restaurant Pontoon has promised to open doors with frosé on tap. Newly opened after a fire burnt down the much loved local bar in early 2014, Stokehouse restaurant is slated to reopen by Christmas, so you can enjoy the three-tiered venue with a glass of alcoholic frozen slushie in hand.
Home to $10 frosé every day, Father’s Office is the place you want to be out of office hours. Served with fresh strawberries, soak up the sun with this pink, frozen drink in summer. Father’s Office also boasts vegan and gluten-free menus so your entire party can enjoy frosé with food options like sticky chicken wings and vegan hand-cut cinnamon sweet potato.
