West Side Best Side Opens In The West

Things are moving in Melbourne’s west. Delicious, foodie, hipster type things.

Last week we announced a new food truck park, Ascot Lot, popping up in Ascot Vale...and now we’ve got West Side Best Side—a “bar, relaxation station and food truck hub”, parked in Kingsville.

WSBS opens in November this year, with plans to run for at least six months in the space. It’s the brainchild of entrepreneur Ellie Marin, owner and founder of food trucks  Cornutopia and My Two Mums.

“I feel like West Side Best Side has been 7 years in the making,” Ellie says. “It’s an opportunity for me to bring everything that I’ve learnt to the table and create a space that Melbournians are going to love.”

Ryan Parker, founder of Pink Lady Cider, will be running the bar (he also built it from scratch), and there’ll be a rotating line-up of four food trucks, with over 80 trucks scheduled to take part over the 6-month run. Names like Taco Truck, Round the Way Bagels, Beatbox, TOASTA, and Lil’ Nom Noms, to name a few.

There’ll also be indie beers from 3 Ravens, Two Birds and Pink Lady Cider on tap, plus boutique wines and cocktail pitchers. One of those pitchers better be Pimms.

Look out for West Side Best Side opposite West Footscray Station. It’ll be opening on 3 November.
