That one day in September is almost here, and not only do we have a great game to look forward to—but there’s a sweet as public holiday coming up as well.
When you’re looking for a venue to watch the game at with your crew, there are only a couple of things that you need. TV screens absolutely everywhere so that you don’t miss a moment. Free-flowing beers. Plenty of food. And probably a raffle at half time of some sort.
So here are your best options when it comes to spending your Grand Final Day in style.
Stomping Ground Brewery
Stomping Ground has 30 beers on tap, and if that’s not reason enough to watch the game here, we don’t know what is. $65 will get you a spot in the beer garden with a selection of house beers, wine, soft drinks or juice plus one of the five main meals. They’re also putting on a feast-style brunch with bottomless filter coffee or juice for $35 for pre-game.
The Local Taphouse
St Kilda East
The Local Taphouse’ downstairs bar area will be the ultimate Grand Final venue this year. $60 gets you a 3-hour beverage package in front of the big screen, which includes Aperol spritz, beer, wine and sparkling.
The Imperial Hotel
The Imperial will be hosting three levels of Grand Final celebrations. Table bookings on the ground floor, buffet breakfast and 3-hour beverage package on level 1, and a big old fashions Grand Final BBQ on the rooftop which will operate on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 10am.
The Boatbuilder’s Yard
Fancy Hank’s will be setting up shop at The Boatbuilder’s Yard for Grand Final Day, dishing up meaty goodness from 12:30pm-5:30pm. Join in the big day with up to 1,400 other punters who will be watching the game on the big screen.
The Aviary will be dishing up $2 pots of Furphy until the first score, along with $14 jugs of Furphy all day along with $18 cocktail jugs (yes please). There’ll be plenty of food on offer, and you won’t want to miss the meat raffle.
St Kilda East
The Grand Final will be going off at The Grosvenor as it does every year. Grab yourself a $15 burger, take advantage of happy hour until the game starts and free Coopers Pale Ale pots from the start of the game until the first point.
The Great Northern
The Great Northern is keeping it simple this Grand Final Day. No cover charge, a lot of TVs and walk-ins are definitely welcome. Doors open from 10am.
Richmond Club Hotel
The Richmond Club has you sorted all day. They’re holding a pre-game breakfast from 9am – 12pm which will set you back $95, between 12pm and 4:30pm the game will be up on the big screen and you can order from the a la carte menu, and from 4:30pm onwards there will be live acoustic music followed by a DJ taking over from 9pm.
The Terminus will be free range downstairs once doors open at 11am it’ll be first in best dressed. Upstairs they’re dishing up a 5-hour food and beverage package that includes local tap beer, house wine and sparkling.
Set yourself up in the restaurant at Prahran Hotel for a cool $55 where you’ll have the table until the end of the match while you enjoy a shared banquet. An Upton Bar package will set you back $105 which includes a beverage package and canapés. The public bar will operate on a first in best dressed basis.
Garden State Hotel
Get a bit of a feed under your belt at Garden State Hotel before the game and enjoy 3 shared courses with matched glass of sparkling or a pint, that’ll cost you $80. You can book in the public bar for $20 per person where you can start the day off right with a bacon & egg roll and a breakfast beer.
The Bridge Hotel
The Studio package at The Bridge Hotel will cost you $100 per person and it includes tap beer, wine by the glass as well as a roaming food selection.
