In winter, it’s easy to fall into the routine of wearing the same old, warm clothing day in, day out. This year, however, there are a bunch of great trends that are totally winter-friendly.
From shearling jackets to interesting, detailed knits, here’s where it’s at this winter. Let’s get creative.
1. Logo Sweaters
Since the humble (and expensively priced) Gucci tee dropped last summer, it’s been logo central in fashion this year. Follow the pack with some great sweaters that make a statement.
2. Shearling Jackets
This is one of the biggest new trends this winter—and thank god, because Melbourne is bloody freezing at the moment! Go classic with the brown leather/cream sheep's wool combo, or make it modern with an all-black affair.
3.Tweed And Check Jackets
My personal favourite this winter is the resurgence of tweed, check and houndstooth. These classic winter prints are best worn in long-line blazers, paired back with black skinnies, boots and a great white tee.

4.Activewear With A Twist
No longer is it acceptable to wear your black, shiny leggings to brunch – and why would you when you can rock a star-print windcheater, or something seriously stylish? Brunch Instas ahoy.
5.90s Hype Girl
Yes, the 90s is still going strong. Track pants with pop studs are back if you dare to wear them with the matching hoodie… Pair back with Fenty slides or Converse One Stars for a relaxed weekend look.

Faux fur is everywhere at the moment, but if you’re looking for a Kate Moss moment (as you should be, always), pair a leopard number back with skinny leather pants and a band tee. Rock has never looked better.

Why wear a boring turtleneck knit when you have so many options at your fingertips? This season we’re seeing knits with ruffles, flare sleeves, bare-back detailing and more. Interesting is always better…
If there was one colour that has invaded runways and street style pics this season, it’s silver – the shinier, the better. To keep it chic, choose one key item like a boot or a leather jacket, and wear it back with simple monochrome.
9.Fire Engine Red
Ok, I lied – there is one more colour that we’re seeing EVERYWHERE at the moment, and it’s pop red. Be bold this season and pair it back with primary block colour (another great trend in 2017), or go sleek with winter white.
The skinny black jean may be your staple, but if you want to be on-trend this winter, you’d better add a plus to those pants. Whether a ruffle detail, a stripe down the side, or a dangerous slit through the front legs, we’re seeing some bold feature pant action this winter.
