Auckland’s love affair with laneways just keeps growing. People went crazy for the recent opening of the gem that is Queen’s Rise and now we’ve got wind that yet another laneway set to open later this month!
Called Tiramarama Way—which means to shine, glimmer and light the way—the lane will open to the public on June 29 at Wynyard Quarter. In the heart of the Innovation Precinct, it really will be a slice of magic in the heart of Auckland. There will be puddles that have been designed to rise and fall with the tides as well as a stunning suspended light display that celebrates Maori astronomy, including Te Punga (The Southern Cross) and Matariki.
It runs from east to west, between Halsey and Daldy streets. The eastern end leads to the new(ish) foodie hub that includes La Petite Fourchette, Wine Runners and Williams Eatery, while the other end offers views over the spectacular Viaduct Harbour.
Auckland, you just keep getting better!
