If the boss has decided to remunerate your efforts accordingly this year (finally!) and you’re finding a little more dosh to splosh, these luxe experiences could be a sure way to burn that cash and feel great about it. Heck, you’ve earnt it! Grab a glass of champagne, your gang, and treat yourself to a luxury day of killer views, one-of-a-kind experiences, and great tasting cuisine.

Boat Party Leo Style

Whether it’s a birthday or business, Cruise New Zealand offers good times and adventure aboard the 55ft luxury catamaran ‘Escape’. Make a day of it on the water with up to 40 guests by heading out aboard a beautiful boat, crusing among beautiful scenery, and enjoying life like the total boss that you are. A day charter of four hours or more gets you use of this lavish vessel, experienced crew, kayaks and snorkelling equipment.

Dine At The French Café

Dining at The French Café is a rite of passage for Auckland's luxury seekers and one of our absolute fave things to do in Auckland. Opt to do their $145 tasting menu and pay the extra $80 for matched wines. Alternatively, you can just enjoy with a bottle of wine. If you're looking to really take things up a notch, our picks are the $1200 bottle of French Henri Boillot and the $2500 bottle of French Chateau Lafite Rothschild. Go hard or go home, we say.

Come Fly With Me

Nothing says 'I've got swagger' like flying a plane. T-Swizzle herself has even been known to get behind the throttle and give flying a jam. No longer just for the elite, Ardmore Flying School offers introductory flight lessons with an experienced instructor in an aeroplane or helicopter. Sit behind the controls while taking in the spectacular sights below of Kawakawa Bay or the Hunua Ranges. If you’re a natural, they might even let you actually land the plane.

Progressive Dining, Anyone?

If taking to the controls yourself isn’t your idea of a good time, why not let the experts at helicopter charter flights Heletranz take care of it? Enjoy a scenic flight in a twin-engine Bell 427 or Agusta 109 Grand and view the city by flying around the Sky Tower, over the Hauraki Gulf, Waiheke Island and the Rangitoto crater.

Start with breakfast and clay bird shooting at new event venue Kauri Bay Boomrock, then take in breath-taking views as you fly to your next course at Waiheke for wine, honey and olive oil tasting at Man O’ War Bay tasting shed. Finish the day with a decadent two-course meal (glass of wine on arrival, of course) at your choice of either Stonyridge or Mudbrick Vineyard. Prices from $750 when travelling with a group of 14.

Live Like A President

Live it up large in SKYCITY Grand Hotel’s presidential suite. This luxe room is all yours for the cool price of $1929 per night. Located on levels 14 to 21, the 116-square-metre suite provides spectacular panoramic views across the Waitemata Harbour. The room boasts a Californian king bed, infinity bathtub, Nespresso coffee machine, humongous shower (complete with rain-head shower fitting) and a pillow menu. Yes, we said pillow menu.

Alternatively, Live Like The Bachelor

If you’ve got even MORE money to burn, why not hire out the mansion featured on The Bachelor NZ? For just $10,002 (don’t forget the extra $2), the luxurious Pohuehue mansion is yours for a night. There’s plenty of room for activities—the mansion has six bedrooms, five loungers, six bathrooms (!) and two kitchens—there’s even an on-site English pub. Get the low-down here.

Aye Aye Captain

Ever fancied taking to the water like our America’s Cup sailors on an actual America’s Cup yacht? If Wills and Kate can do it, so can you. Take to the helm of an America’s Cup yacht across Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour and experience the craft of sailing, usually the domain of billionaire playboys and professionals. You need not experience, just a positive attitude and zesty sea spirit.

Fancy A Float?

It’s one of those new-age trends that might not make any sense to Gran, but indulging in the latest float craze could prove a great feat. Known for relieving stress and improving wellbeing, a float is a fun way to unwind—it's the ultimate relaxation experience. Float Culture offer 90-minute floats that include an hour in the pod and the use of fabulous skincare products. This massively luxe thing to do in Auckland is an awesome bridal shower pampering day kick-starter or just the trick before a night of glamourous wining and dining.

Best-Kept Secret

The Simunovich Olive Estate is home to a beautiful olive grove and one of Auckland’s best getaways to Bracu restaurant. This little slice of heaven makes a city getaway endearing and effortless, with a selection of accommodation options in picturesque homesteads available. If you're keen for a short sojourn, we'd recommend a one-night stay, a seven-course degustation dinner menu, transportation to and from Bracu restaurant, breakfast the next day and a discount on the amazing Olive skincare range.
