Auckland’s latest new opening is taking you on a journey through Central and South America. Inti has opened its doors and we couldn't be more excited!

Brought to us by the man behind beloved Avondale pop-up Exteberria, Executive chef Javier Carmona, has found his permanent home in the heart of our big little city on the corner of O’Connell and Chancery Streets. The new restaurant features a spacious earthy fit out. The space does its namesake of Inti, sun god of the Inca region proud, featuring a concrete polished bar, lighting displays and murals by legendary local artist Flox, there’s plenty to discover upon a visit.

A keen glance over the decadent menu will have you faced with the whacky and wonderful. Adding his own special flare to Hispanic cuisine, Javier has crafted a menu designed to offer us Auckland foodies an entirely new tastetastic adventure. Javier’s roots in studying art are evident, with each dish leaving the kitchen a picturesque masterpiece so gorgeous you’ll feel a twinge of guilt digging in.

“Hispanic food and culture are firmly rooted in the family,” says Javier. “We hope to surprise and offer a thoughtful experience and expand perceptions of an ancient cuisine.”

Our top pick would have to be the torta ahogada, Inti’s epic take on a classic Mexican dish. Featuring tender slices of alpaca (you don’t see that every day!) nestled among fennel with hints of coffee topped with a foodgasmic agua de chilli crema sauce.

Inti's twist on cebiche sees the classic transformed. Marinated in lime, topped with red cabbage, leche de tigre, salted tamarillo, sweet potato and a dash of activated charcoal this refresher is one you won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

You'll be hit with an explosion of flavour when faced with the gram worthy green deconstructed chorizo. This bundle of happiness is topped with a 65° egg, along with salted pepitas encased under a blanket of wood sorrel.

That’s not even to mention the magical sweet treats! A marvellous twist on the classic brulee, the goat's milk crema catalana is a gift from the gods. Topped with torched meringue, candied barley, alongside custard apple, this wonder of the foodie world is sure to have you coming back for more.

In addition to an extensive wine list, you’re going to want to check out the supreme cocktails. Our top pick would be The Peruvian, Inti’s very own take on a Pisco sour that’s sure to put a spring in your step and best served alongside the indulgent salsa tarasca.

With a harmonious roller coaster of flavours, Inti’s fresh new experience is just a hop skip and a jump into the CBD away!
