Aucklanders, breathe a collective sigh of relief because the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival is heading back to our shores in 2018 and we couldn’t be any. More. Excited.
The epic festival has just announced that Mac DeMarco will be making a return next year, after blowing all of our minds back in 2015. Crowned as the King of Slacker-Rock and with a track record of releasing a fresh album every single year, it’d be a real loss to miss this one. We suggest getting your hands on some ticks ASAP (they are released on Wednesday), because this kind of event doesn’t wait for anyone.
Along side Mac, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals are set to take centre stage and the anticipation is real. Praised for being one of the world’s top live acts with extreme vibes that will leave you wanting more days later, their debut to the beloved Laneway is welcomed with open arms. Since popping up in Dr Dre’s internet-breaking album Compton, .Paak has gained momentum across the world making a front row spot a real kind of battle.
The rest of the Festival’s 2018 line up will be revealed on September 12 and based on the two headliners, we are expecting a hype-worthy bunch.
If you haven’t already experienced the day of banging beats and delicious eats under the Kiwi sun, 2018 is calling your name. After a smooth transition to Albert Park last year, the festival will be returning so you can have a not-so-chill day at the park.
Laneway is locked and loaded for Auckland Anniversary Day (29th Jan) right in the heart of this coming summer. Grab your hat and sunnies and let’s do this.
