9 Amazing Things To Do In Perth This Weekend

By Holly Nicholls - 19 Oct 2017

How could we not be excited by a weekend that involves Rotto, a citywide garage sale, festivals that involve French cheese and WA wines and a night market specialising in our fave dishes from Malaysia? Do we even need to mention that it’s also Global Champagne Day on Saturday? It’s almost too good. Lucky the weather will have sorted itself out by tomorrow so slip, slop, slap and be prepared to overindulge!

Here are 9 amazing things to do in Perth this weekend.

All Weekend

BEAUVINE FESTIVAL IN MOUNT LAWLEY

From tomorrow night until Sunday, Beauvine Food & Wine Festival is turning it on again in Birdwood Square. If you missed out last year, think handpicked beers, ciders, spirits and wines from WA with loads of food from our fave restaurants in Perth, not to mention this delicious dessert. This is an epic day and a super fun one so make sure to grab a bunch of mates, buy your ticket and get on it!

GARAGE SALE TRAIL ACROSS PERTH

Ever wanted to see inside your neighbour's place or buy that lamp you always see in their window? Creepy? A little bit, but we’re just really into second hand treasures. This Saturday and Sunday there’s a national garage sale going on and with 300,000 sales happening across the country, whether you’re a seller or a buyer, this is the weekend to do it! All the info you need is here.

MICROCHIP BLITZ AT PET STOCK STORES

This Saturday and Sunday, Pet Stock is helping our furry buddies find their way home with a countrywide $10 microchip blitz. With loads of stores around town, there's sure to be one near you so book your best bud in here. We promise your pet will give you lots of kisses afterwards to thank you. Maybe.

PROJECT ALOFT STAR FINALS AT ALOFT PERTH

Project Aloft Star is a global competition kick starting the careers of budding musicians and bands and it launched in Australia this year. There are four finalists left (including Perth’s Coin Banks woop woop!) and this Friday they’ll be pumping out their original songs in the hope of taking out the grand prize! Head here for all the deets.

PASAR MALAM NIGHT MARKET AT CURTIN UNIVERSITY

Pasar Malam (which literally means night market) is happening at Curtin tomorrow night. The night market perfectly aligns with the uni’s multicultural week and will be filled to the brim with insanely delicious Malaysian and Indonesian treats, entertainment, artisan stalls and rides (we’re all just big kids at heart right?) Who says you have to jump on an AirAsia flight to get cultured. All the info is right here so you can do it on your doorstep!

CHAMPAGNE DAY AT THE SHOREHOUSE

Global Champagne Day celebrations will be going off tomorrow night at The Shorehouse in Swanbourne from 6:30pm. For $150, you’ll be showered with nine different champagnes matched to a five-course meal and all while sitting in one of our fave beachside restaurants in town. Been looking for an excuse for a date night? Make it this. Book your spot here.

TOP 50 WA WINE TASTING AT IL LIDO

Il Lido is basically telling us to take the day off tomorrow. Why else would they be holding this amazing long table luncheon on a Friday. Well, don’t mind if we do! The Wine Show Of WA is hosting their annual celebration of the 50 best award winning WA wines of 2017. Paired with canapés from the Italian kitchen team, be sure to book here so you don’t miss out.

Saturday 21 October

BONJOUR PERTH FESTIVAL IN SUBIACO

The first thing on our agenda this Saturday is getting ourselves to the French Festival in Subi’s Market Square. There’s a program jam packed with tricks and treats but it’s the French bulldog parade that’s got us giddy. It’s a free event but for those keen on the guided gastronomic trail through France grab your tickets here

Sunday 22 October

GOODLIFE ROTTNEST RUNNING FESTIVAL ON ROTTNEST ISLAND

Starting from $30 and with event proceeds going to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, make your mark this Sunday in the 24th Rottnest Marathon. You’ve only got until 4pm this arvo to register for the 5km, 10km, 21.1km or the whopping 42.2km so head here ASAP. Good luck! We’ll be saving your seat at the pub afterwards for celebrations.
