Is there anything more fabulous than a long lunch? When you’ve got good food, cold drinks, great company and the whole afternoon to knock yourself into a food coma the world is your oyster.
Our friends over at Somersby happen to agree, which is why we’ve teamed up with them to bring you 10 of the best spots to take your mates for a long lunch—with plenty of ciders—in Perth.
A seriously beautiful cafe, bar and restaurant overlooking Elizabeth Quay, we recommend heading straight for the restaurant on the second floor at The Reveley, finding a table with a view and settling in for the afternoon. There’s plenty of good food to share and the steaks here are next level. If you haven’t reached food coma state by late afternoon, head upstairs to the bar and kick on for the night.
If you are a fan of dim sum—and let’s face it, who isn’t?—head straight to Rice Baby in Subi and order everything on the menu along with a couple of ciders to wash it all down. The bao and dumplings are crazy delicious, and the huge tables inside are the perfect spot to while away the afternoon.
Bib & Tucker
With a view like this, any meal you have at Bib & Tucker will turn into a long one! The menu is broken into bites, pizzas, smalls and bigs, so everything here is perfect for sharing, and if you’re anything like us you’ll have a hard time deciding what to order. Take a word of advice from us and don’t miss the fish tacos or the pumpkin gnocchi.
Is there anything the team at Il Lido can’t do? Whether you’re after a quick breakfast, a romantic dinner date or a long (and slightly boozy) lunch, this is your one-stop shop. Head in for a special occasion, or just drop by after a swim at the beach and eat your heart out.
If you’re heading out to Guildford, you might as well make a day of it. With an electric but laid back vibe, The Guildford makes for one heck of a long lunch spot. If you’ve got a special occasion to celebrate you can always hire out one of the b-e-a-utiful rooms and dig in to the amazing food alongside a couple of icy cold ciders. Cheeseburger spring rolls anyone?
There’s something about long lunches overlooking the water that just feels right, so next time you’ve got something special to celebrate, head to Mister Walker and get fancy while you’re overlooking the beautiful Perth skyline.
Sweetwater Rooftop Bar
Ain’t no party like a rooftop party, and the rooftop parties at Sweetwater are the best. And when we say party, we mean a food party. Order as much food as you can possibly handle—the sesame glazed cauliflower, some dumplings and the sirloin are all non-negotiables FYI—and wash it all down with a drink or five.
Another beach ‘burb, another beautiful restaurant—when in Perth, right? Time your lunch right and you should be able to catch the sunset over Swanny beach with a drink in hand at The Shorehouse.
Bread In Common
The buzzy atmosphere and warehouse vibes are enough to have you hooked at Bread In Common, but the food is what will keep you coming back time and time again. It’s all about communal dining here so it’s the perfect spot to break bread with a big group of your nearest and dearest.
Northbridge Brewing Company
If you’re after some good pub grub and a few frothies, Northbridge Brewing Co is the spot for you. Grab the cheesy chicken poutine, some wagyu sliders and a few chicken wings and then wash it all down with one of the many beers or ciders they’ve got on offer.
