August is coming to a close and we can almost feel spring in the air, and if the number of amazing things to do this weekend is anything to go by, apparently the whole of Perth can feel it too!
From truffle dinners, fire dancing and fights, to markets, cupcakes and wine, there is an event on for every single one of you this weekend, no matter what you're in to.

Friday 25 August
It's that time of year again! Volunteers will be lining the streets of Perth to collect funds for cancer research, education and support services for West Australian families who are affected by cancer each year, so dig deep! It is as simple as purchasing a pin, pen, a Dougal Bear or fresh daffodils, and if you don’t happen to bump into one of these champs on the day, you can still donate online. For more information on how to help click here.
FLAMINGO FRIDAYS AT THE BLUE FLAMINGO
If you love free entry, great music and dancing the night away, then Flamingo Fridays is the place for you. If you can’t make it this Friday, well you’re in luck as it is on again next week, and the week after that, and every Friday until the end of time (or for the foreseeable future at least). Yas! For more information click here.
SANDALFORD WINES TRUFFLE DINNER AT C RESTAURANT

WA HANDMADE AND DESIGNED POP UP MARKET IN KARRINYUP
There is nothing better than spending your weekends at the markets, finding hidden goodies for a great price. There will be over 30 Perth makers, artists, creatives and designers selling their gems so you know you won’t be disappointed. Click here for more information.
CANCER NO BUENO AT CROWN TOWERS
If you’re over 21 and love a good excuse to dress up and socialise (especially for a good cause) then Cancer No Bueno is the event for you. You can expect nothing less than an amazing line up of entertainers, canapés and food stations. To get your ticket click here.
RSPCA CUPCAKE DAY IN CANNING VALE
Do you love cupcakes? What about dogs? If you answered yes to both (which I’m assuming you ALL would have) then you’re in luck as all proceeds from the sale of cupcakes at Canning Vale's Fleur de Vie gift store and 10% of the proceeds from sales on the day will be donated to the RSPCA. If you can’t make it on Saturday you can still donate through the fundraising page. For more information click here.
In Conversation With Joel Farland And Claudio At El Grotto
As part of Red Bull Music Academy's Road to Weekender, Joel Farland will be in P-town this weekend chatting about the creative process behind his own work and getting studio tracks ready for live performances. If you're not familiar, Joel Farland is a musical director who has worked with the likes of Peking Duk, Hayden James, Cosmo's Midnight and Elk Road, but he is also a world class drummer having toured with Broods, Miami Horror, Van She and more—so basically, he's a legend! If you're a bit of a muso, you won't want to miss this. Get more info here. If you can't make it to that, Red Bull Music Academy is also behind the ABRA x Thank Guard Fam gig on at Jack Rabbit Slim's on Saturday night, so grab a ticket for that one here.
Sunday 27 August
CITY TO SURF
The time of the year has come again for Perth’s annual City to Surf. Registrations close online at 12 pm on Saturday but will remain open in person until 5pm at the Event Expo, so if you've been thinking of registering, make sure you do it before then! Just think about how good you'll feel after a nice long run on Sunday morning! For more information and to register click here.
MAYWEATHER VS MCGREGOR FIGHT
That’s right, the biggest fight of the year is happening this weekend (and you don’t even have to be a UFC fan to know this). Just about every pub in Perth will be showing the Mayweather vs McGregor fight so you can probably just roll down to your local and watch it on Sunday morning, but if you really want to get in the spirit, head to Crown with just about every other man and his dog in Perth and get ready for a big Sunday. Get all the details here.
ANNALAKSHMI COOKING DEMONSTRATION
If you haven’t been to Annalakshmi before, let us fill you in. The whole place is run by volunteers who cook up epic Indian eats for you to enjoy, buffet style. At the end, you pay whatever you think it was worth. Amazing. This weekend, the volunteers invite you to a demonstration of their fave recipes so you can learn how they cook all that delish food, and then sit down to a buffet afterwards so you can enjoy all those tasty treats that have been cooked up. As always, you eat as much as you like and pay as your heart desires (but don’t be cheeky, this place deserves your dollies!) To reserve your spot click here.
