We should all be very happy to be West Australians today. Not only is WA the best State (yeh that’s right), but today we are the only State in Oz having a public holiday #winning. This will most definitely be thrown back in our faces next week when those other Aussies are all relaxing while we work, but for now lets just bask in the glory of being ahead of the game.
No surprises that there is plenty going on today, but the whole week is going to be chock-a-block full of awesome things so don’t wear yourself out too much!
Here are 5 awesome things to do in Perth this week.
Monday 6 June
SOTA Festival At Elizabeth Quay
Four stages and 30 performers, all for free! Yup, you can go and see the likes of San Cisco, Ta-Ku, Koi Child and Jebediah for free-sies. Thanks WA! There will also plenty of other activities going on around Elizabeth Quay and the Esplanade in Freo as part of WA Day so make sure you head out and see what’s going on! Get more info here.
Tuesday 7 June – Saturday 25 June
What’s Love Got To Do With It At The Blue Room Theatre
What’s love got to do with it? What’s love but a second hand emotion? Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken? That’ll be stuck in your head all day (you’re welcome) but seriously, this play is going to be great. It’s a satirical little look at love as a pharmaceutical company who have a developed a cure love debates the ethics of it all. Get tix here.
Wednesday 8 June
Beer and Whiskey Pairing Session At Baby Mammoth
Baby Mammoth have teamed up with Copper & Oak for a beer and whiskey pairing evening. That’s right, beer goes with whiskey and you need to know the ins and outs of it right now! Of course there will also be some killer food on offer thanks to the crew at Baby Mammoth. Get more info here.
Thursday 9 June
Dumplings and DJs At Apple Daily
Really we don’t need any excuse to go to Apple Daily during the week, the food is enough. But throw in some DJs and more dumplings than you can poke a stick at and just try and hold us back. Get the deets here.
Chasing The Green Fairy At Halford Bar
Absinthe. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it (properly)! Not quite sure how to try it properly? No problems. Australia's Master of Absinthe, Mr Ben Luzz, will be in Perth for one night only at Halford to teach you! There will be absinthe cocktails, tastings and paired food to make sure you’re still standing at the end of the night. Get more info here.
