Half way through January and feeling disheartened about failed New Years resolutions? Never fear, Perthlings, we have enough live music, drama, comedy and cooking classes to put that spring back in your step! Plus, a hefty dose of laughter is like a free ab workout, right?!
Here are five awesome things to do in Perth this week.
Tuesday 17 January
PJ Harvey At Fremantle Arts Centre
PJ Harvey is back in Oz with her 10-piece band and number one album. Gather your crew and get ready for a night of singing, swaying and head banging to some phenomenal rock ballads. Check out Bread In Common for a pre-show feast and grab your tix here.
Mindful Eating At Matters of Taste Cooking School
It’s 2017 people! We like to say “new year, new me” with our mouths full of healthy and delicious raw salted caramel cheesecake. Health food expert Kristen Pavez is the mastermind behind Healthful Treats, supplying those yummy bliss balls to some of your fave Freo cafes. She is giving a three-hour recipe workshop at Matters Of Taste, giving you the hot tips on how to make zoodles, raw capsicum and sun dried tomato pesto, healthy hot chocolate and more. Places are limited so grab your bestie and book a ticket here.
Wednesday 18 January
Little Simz At Jack Rabbit Slims
What better way to celebrate hump day than with live rap and a round of Slim’s famous alcoholic milkshakes (peanut butter and Jameson, yasss plz!)? 22-year-old UK rapper and singer Little Simz is ready to take the mic with a stack of award-winning EPs and mix tapes under her belt. Get your groove on and book tix here.
Midsummer's Night Dream At Quarry Amphitheatre City Beach
Thursday 19 January
Raw Comedy At The Charles Hotel
Not yet touched that new year gym membership? Never fear, the comedians of Raw Comedy are here! Supplying you and your mates with ab crunching laughter that burns more than a Kayla Itsines workout, it is a night not to be missed. Come down to the Charles Hotel and check out heat two of the famous national open mic comedy competition. Doors open at 7pm for the 8-10pm show and tix are only $10 for students (cheaper than a fancy gym sesh? We think so.) For more info check this out.
