Don’t worry guys—Monday will be over soon enough and we’ve got your back from here on out. From tomorrow onwards we’ve put together a bundle of fun for everyone. Between joining an Australia wide writing workshop, tasting 15 year old malts from the masters, hand making healthy and the perfect amount of LOL’s, there’ll be no time for binge-watching Netflix (save that for Friday night).
Here are 5 things to do in Perth this week that we think are pretty awesome.
Tuesday 24 October
DIGITAL WRITERS FESTIVAL ONLINE
The 2017 Digital Writers Festival starts tomorrow and it’s calling emerging writers, bloggers, book lovers and all-round creatives to jump in. The festival is based in Melbourne but is accessible to everyone online, hooray for the internet. There are workshops, performances, panel discussions and seminars focusing on all things writing from copywriting for social media and digital literature to self publishing and launching your own magazine. All the info can be found here. See you on the internets tomorrow night!
Wednesday 25 October
WHISKY WEDNESDAY AT HALFORD BAR
Wednesday, whisky and Balvenie. Three words that always belong in a sentence together. From 6pm, Halford Bar is hosting the Balvenie brand ambassador Ross Blainey where he’ll be showcasing their centuries old Scottish malts and explaining the rare distilling process that’s been handed down the generations. Tickets are $42 and include tastings of special releases including the 15 year old single sherry cask (where’s the yum emoji when we need it?). After work drinks have never looked so good! Head here to book.
HEALTHFUL DESSERT WORKSHOP AT STACKWOOD
Puh-lease. All they had to do was mention snickers bars and raspberry cheesecake and we were there. The fact that it’s gluten free, refined sugar free and dairy free is just the cherry on the (deliciously vegan) cake! Head down to Freo’s super cool Stackwood at 6:30pm this Wednesday and get cooking! For $65, you’ll make six treats and walk away feeling like a health God. PSA: this is a super good one for the Thermomix owners out there. All the deets are here. Enjoy!
AUSTRALIA’S FUNNIEST SHORTS AT THE ROSEMOUNT
From 7pm this Wednesday, The Rosemount will be LOL’s all round as it screens Australia’s Funniest Shorts. As the name suggests, it’s basically an hour-long movie showcasing loads of short films from Australia’s best comedians and filmmakers. The film was a raging success at Edinburgh Fringe, Sydney Comedy, Fringe World and loads more so it’s undoubtedly going to be a fun night out. Tickets are just 10 bucks—head here to purchase.
