It’s Melbourne Cup week guys and that means only one thing: it’s (pretty much) a four-day work week! That’s especially great for those that don’t even really care about the race cos you can still reap the rewards like a pro. Winning.
As well as tomorrow’s festivities, we’re channelling our inner Ross and Rachel, colouring outside the lines and getting all up in the music scene.
Here are 5 awesome things to do in Perth this week.
Monday 6 November
FLOWER CROWN WORKSHOP AT STATE BUILDINGS
We can’t be certain but we have a pretty good feeling that taking out the best dressed prize at Melbourne Cup will be a whole lot easier with a handmade flower crown, and luckily, Fox & Rabbit has us sorted. It starts at 6pm tonight so be sure to grab your $150 ticket here!
PAINT SUBI ON ROCKEBY ROAD
A bunch of insanely amazing local and international artists will be making their mark and colouring up the streets, walls and lanes of Subi. It starts today and goes all week, so head down to check them out in action. More info found here.
FRIENDS QUIZ AT THE OLD LAUNDRY
Time to get down and dirty because just like Monica, losing is not an option! Head to Angove Street tonight at 6:30pm and for just 5 bucks you can make all those binge Friends sessions worth something. All the info you need is here. Good luck good luck gooood luuuuck (as said by Phoebs, obviously).
PEGGY GLANVILLE-HICKS ADDRESS AT SUBIACO ARTS CENTRE
Calling all contemporary music lovers, composers and basically anyone in the arts! Presented by media executive and composer Kim Williams the annual address (a free national forum igniting conversation around contemporary music) will kick off in Perth tonight at 6:30pm before heading to the East coast. Register here.
Tuesday 7 November
MELBOURNE CUP BABY
Where to start?! Print Hall, The Standard, The Resident, The Garden, The Queens, The Guilford is just the beginning, as just about every cool place in Perth will be putting on a show tomorrow for the big race. All you need to do is head here, choose which event takes your fancy, grab a bunch of mates and figure out a way to get out of a work! May the odds be forever in your favour.
