5 Awesome Things To Do In Perth This Week

By Tina Varghese - 29 Jan 2017

If your only plan for this month was to crank up the air-con and Netflix away until the heat dies down, then we feel you, we do. But a wise man once said that nothing is more expensive than a missed opportunity, and we’re not gonna let the silly sun take that away from you! We’ve rounded up a bunch of Fringe-tastic events for you to check out this week, including a hilarious improv Harry Potter show, a mind-boggling escape room and a mystifying cabaret-style aerial show.

Here are 5 awesome things to do in Perth this week.

LADIES OF THE BIG TOP AT PRINCESS MAY PARK

One of the many exciting shows at the Fringe Festival, Ladies of the Big Top is a wicked fusion of cabaret meets aerobatics. These quirky ‘chicks-with-tricks’ promise to throw you off your feet with gravity-defying stunts and whacky antics, which might just make you wish you paid more attention during gym class. FREE SCREENING OF BATTLE OF THE SEXES AT THE NORTHBRIDGE PIAZZA

Grab some munchies and your SO or your bestie and head to the Northbridge Piazza for a free screening of the sports biographical comedy-drama Battle of the Sexes, under the starry skies of Perth city. The plot traces the true story of the 1973 tennis match between world number one Billie Jean King and ex-champ and serial hustler Bobby Riggs. We hear this movie is quite an entertainer, and tbh we’d expect nothing less from Steve Carell and Emma Stone.  Click here for more details.

Thursday 1 February

ESCAPE ROOM AT THE PLEASURE GARDEN

Gather your mates to form a team of eight and solve allll of the puzzles, clues, and ciphers. You'll need to open secret hidey-holes, panels, and boxes to secure all the illicit booze before the Feds show up at this 1931 prohibition-era speakeasy-themed escape room. Hey, even though you won’t be chucked into the slammer for missing a clue, you can always prepare yourselves for a future prohibition. Click here for more details.
