5 Awesome Things To Do In Perth This Week

By Mikaela Knight - 31 Jul 2017

With international beer day this Friday, we already know this is going to be a hell of a week. But before we can scream ‘TGIF’, we have a bunch of events to get you through the week. Enjoy free flowing grog, live comedy, some fine feasts and a Kendrick Lamar dance routine.

Here are 5 awesome things to do in Perth this week.

Monday 31 July

Black Tot Day At TIKI as FK

Our fave tiki style bar is commemorating the 47th anniversary of Black Tot Day. What is Black Tot, you ask? It was the last day the British Navy were issued their daily rum rations (rations being eight pints each, yes eight!) At 11pm Tiki as FK will be pouring free Hot Navy Grog, plus $10 dark and stormies, Pusser Rum cocktails and some great live music. This is one way to kick off your week, get the details here.

50 First Jokes With Sonny Yang At The Flying Scotsman

Why have dates when you can have jokes? Or better still; bring a date to Perth’s biggest night of laughs. Perth comedians are invited to deliver three minutes of stitch-inducing jokes. Last time The Flying Scotsman hit 49 jokers, so come along and help them reach 50, everyone is welcome. Tickets are only $5, so get all the details here.

Glorious Food, Beer And Whisky Night At Baby Mammoth

Baby Mammoth’s interactive four-course foodie event brings together three of our fave things. Each mouth-watering course will be paired with an exclusive WA first offering, plus the Starward Whisky Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. This is a night to remember (or at least remember most of). Tickets available here.

Wednesday 2 August

Kendrick Lamar Humble Workshop at The Cipher Dance Academy

The moment the beat of Kendrick’s ‘Humble’ begins, it’s impossible not to start dancing. Impress your friends with a kick-ass hip-hop routine thanks to Cipher Dance Academy. This 1.5 hour beginners session is $20 (or $15 with a friend) and will be all about fun and fitness. Find out more here.

French Wine Master Class At Young George

This time of year it’s hard not to catch a serious case of FOMO scrolling through your friends exotic European Insta pics. Well, our friends at Young George are here to help you out with a full French experience in their East Fremantle cellar. A wine expert will guide you through five premium wines with fancy bites to match (make sure you take plenty of pics). Places are limited so get your tix here.
