We were pretty devastated when Barque in East Fremantle closed a few months back, but the news that another amazing restaurant would open in that same space was enough to keep us going—and now the time has finally arrived. Cook & Mason is here—and they're already booking out!
They've made some massive changes to the heritage building, and one quick squizz inside tells us it was worth the wait for this beautiful restaurant. Let's just say we want the number of the interior designer who's responsible for this!
Chef Gord Kahle will be changing the menu up on the regs to make the most of what's in season, but his custom-made wood fire grill won't be going anywhere, so you can expect delicious flavours all year round. The food is designed to share and the current menu features dishes like heirloom tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella, grilled squid with roasted peppers, and grilled Blackwood Valley braised beef shin with black garlic. Yum!
For now, they're open for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday with lunch on Friday and Saturday, but they've got plans to start breakfast on the weekends so watch this space!
