Perth cafes have absolutely nailed the brekky, lunch and coffee game. In fact, they're so dang good at them that when you do happen to get a bad coffee or a sub-par breakfast it evokes a very real rage. We've all been there, don't pretend you haven't. But now a few of our fave Perth cafes are dishing out dinner and we're not going to lie, we're pretty excited about it.
From pasta nights to 1.2 metre long bruschetta, here are a few of our fave Perth cafes who are dishing out dinner.
Now open for dinner on Fridays until 9pm, we’re hoping this Highgate cafe is planning to open up for dinner seven days a week and you will too once you’ve tried their dinners. With a seasonal menu developed by head chef Tristan Cook, a new one is released two or three times a year depending on what's in season. Head to Source Cafe from 6pm for dinner on a Friday and try something from their spaghetti bar—you won’t be disappointed.
The Attic in Fremantle is now Attaco every Friday and Saturday night from 6pm ‘til late. Dishing out pan-Asian tacos to the people of Freo, you'll want to get your hands on the fish taco with green papaya slaw and nouc cham mayo or the vegan miso cauliflower taco with tomatillo salsa and cashew crema. They're also doing guac with seaweed 'corn' chips as well as craft beers, wines and a few cocktails.
Bassendean’s most loved cafe Holly Rayes is serving up a next-level French menu on a Thursday and Friday night from 6:30pm. BYO and buckle up for their set bistro menu. Serving up three courses for just $50, you’ll find entrees like confit duck baked in crispy filo pastry, mains featuring house made pork fillet with espresso butter, Paris mash and vegetables, and desserts like chocolate almond cake or Saint Agur blue cheese served with fig and biscotti—need we say more?
Little h is open for dinners on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 5:30pm and the greatest news of all is that it's BYO! The menu is a continuation of the existing lunch menu and features their epic burgers alongside a few other seasonal dishes. Yum.
Not only does Bottega serve a superb cup of coffee during the day, but they stay up late from Wednesday to Sunday serving home-made pasta and a whopping 40 to 120cm long bruschetta with a variety of authentic and mouth-watering toppings. If you head in between 4 and 5pm you'll also get free homemade arancini with an Aperitif to whet the appetite before dinner.
Bread in Common
Yes ok, these guys have always been open for dinner, but if we're talking about cafes who serve up delish dinner, we could not leave Bread in Common off the list. Open late seven nights a week, you’ll find shared dishes, like their creamy buffalo mozzarella, grape vincotto and basil or the cuttlefish with peas, black beans, spring onion and Cajun spice.
Gordon St Garage
Another Perth cafe that has been dishing out dinner for yonks, Gordon St Garage serves up exquisitely poured coffee by Mano a Mano during the day and a seriously good wine list by night. Their evening menu works best when shared, where you can pair things like their beetroot salad, mushroom and blue cheese pizza and sweet potato and feta salad, and finish off with a digestif or something from the dessert menu.
