Calling all Insta addicts (and anyone who appreciates a bit of early morning beauty). 30 hot air balloons will be filling the sky in Northam as part of the National Ballooning Championships (yes, those are a thing).
Hot air balloon pilots from around the world will be descending upon Northam and the Avon Valley to test their skills from 2 to 9 September, so if you don't mind an early start, why not get out there and watch the sunrise with hot air balloons filling the sky.
Festivities kick off on Saturday 2 September with the Northam Balloon Fiesta—markets, food, drinks, show bags, carnival rides and a balloon discovery zone—and the speccy Balloon Glow happening in the evening which is exactly what it sounds like—loads of hot air balloons glowing in the sky after dark, accompanied by music and fireworks no less!
If you fancy yourself a photography whizz, you might be interested to know there's a photography comp happening. All you need to do is upload your pics to Facebook and Insta with the hashtags #justanotherdayinwa #visitnortham#northamnationals and #photocomp and you could be in the running to win a balloon flight for two over the Avon Valley. Noice.
Less than a 90-minute drive from Perth, why not head down for the weekend to check it out, and of course, book your own hot air balloon ride while you're there!
Until then, head here for more awesome things to do in Perth.
