The Summer Festival You Can’t Miss In 2017

The award-winning Summerset Arts Festival is back and better than ever this year with over 50 free and affordable events spanning over 17 days throughout the City of Stirling.

From 20 January to 5 February, Perth peeps will be treated to loads of laughs, wonderful sights, beautiful sounds, crazy stunts, delicious food and more, in an event which sees the return of the Sunset Veranda, an official Fringe World pop-up venue.

Here’s everything you can’t miss at this awesome Perth summer festival.

Cabaret Moonstruck

Inspired by the historic Luna Park and featuring aerial stunts, contortionists and incredible feats of strength, Cabaret Moonstruck is a Fringe World show not to be missed. Book your tickets now!

Blooms And Bubbles: Cake Decorating

A flower workshop like no other, at this event you’ll get to sip on bubbles as Stacey from Beans and Bunches shows you the art of floral cake decorating. You’ll walk away with the basic principles of floristry down pat and your very own flower piece to impress your friends. You need to book in to this one to avoid disappointment.

Artist Open Studios

Call us perves, but we love some good ol’ sticky beaking, especially when our suspects are the creative folk. Seven local City of Stirling artists will open their doors to the public during Artist Open Studios, showcasing their greatest sources of inspiration. There’ll be opportunities to see the artists at work, chat to them and even buy their masterpieces.

Comedy Hypnotist Matt Hale: Serving Suggestions

After a sell-out fringe season in 2016, everyone’s favourite comedy hypnotist is back in 2017 with more mind-bending madness. This is one comedy show you need not worry about being selected from the audience for, Matt’s hypno-laughs are 100% chicken free and feature only tasteful consequences for the hypnotistee. Inglewood Night Markets

Boring Mondays are a thing of the past thanks to the Inglewood Night Markets. With tons of tasty delicacies from some of Perth’s best food stalls and trucks, your dinner (and dishes) are sorted. Yay!

Summerset Comedy Gala

A Summer Eve Picnic With Anna Gare

Stevenson Experience: Identical As Anything

Salute The Sun: Laughter Yoga

Keep the good times rolling and kick off your weekend with a healthy dose of laughter. Using dynamic breathing, movement and play, this free yoga class is quite different to your usual, but will leave you feeling on an endorphin high for the rest of the weekend.

Summerset Concert: Methyl Ethel, Cub Sport & Guests

Celebrating the final weekend of the Summerset Arts Festival, this year’s Summerset Concert features Perth sell-out band Methyl Ethel, as well as Aussie indie-pop group Cub Sport. If there was one event not to be missed, it’s this one. And the best news, it’s 100% free!
