Monday 13 August
The Simpsons Quiz Night At The Old Laundry
If you haven’t been to one of The Old Laundry’s legendary quiz nights yet, this might just be the ticket. Find yourself in the little town of Springfield hanging out with all your favourite four-fingered friends (plus some of your actual friends, tables of at least two required!), whipping out all your Simpsons knowledge in the hopes of getting your hands on that $100 voucher. Get in quick!
Tuesday 14 August
Musical Bingo At The Newport Hotel
For something a bit different this week, head to The Newport Hotel to try your hand at Musical Bingo. New last month, this night of ‘dropping beats not balls’ involves your host playing songs and giving you 45 seconds to mark your card (or not). Two lines of songs on your Bingo card will earn that prize we mentioned!
Wednesday 15 August
Sock It To Sarcoma Charity Beer Launch At Big Bopper
For those who like beer, burgers and good causes, this Charity Beer Launch is the chance of a lifetime to hit three birds with one stone. The purveyors of deliciousness over at Rocky Ridge Brewing Co have brewed up a coffee infused milk stout all in the name of raising awareness of and funds for sarcoma research. The third bird? Stuffing your face with a burger at the brand new Big Bopper. Grab your ticket ASAP!
Eats By Blake At Petition Kitchen
The menu at Petition is pretty damn good, so imagine the creations that unfold when Head Chef Jesse Blake goes off menu for one night only to dish up something inventive at Eats by Blake. A culmination of Blake’s culinary experiments, guilty favourites and childhood memories, this three-course share-style dinner will be paired with wine matched by the State Buildings’ wine guru Emma Farrelly.
Thursday 16 August
Strangetables Duck & Pinot Dinner At Strange Company
After their first AND second instalment sold out, the living legends over at Strange Company are throwing another—they say, a final—Duck & Pinot Dinner for all those who missed out (well, 14 of them, at least). The Pinot Noir/duck combo is a thing of true beauty, and in this dinner you get four delightful courses of it. Some cracking Pinot’s will be opened and the duck will be cooked using a different technique for each course – who can resist?
