Everybody loves banana bread. Even people who don’t like bananas still love banana bread. Why? Because it’s delicious, warming and makes you feel all cosy inside.
There are some people however who will tell you the reason it’s so tasty is because it’s so ‘full of sugar’ and is essentially just bread-shaped cake. (Yes, bad-mouthing banana bread. Some people just want to watch the world burn, don’t they?)
If you encounter one of those people, ignore them. You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life. Plus, as far as we’re concerned, banana bread contains fruit, grains, dairy and perhaps cinnamon, which is apparently good for your immune system. So there.
Here are some of our fave spots dishing up Perth’s best banana bread.
Flora And Fauna
If you haven’t seen the amazing pictures of Flora and Fauna’s dishes floating around on Instagram, jump on there and have a look-see. Then once you’re done, go there and order their banana bread. It’s served with coconut jam, AND it also happens to be sugar-free, so you don’t even have to feel bad about eating the bread-shaped cake.
All the coeliacs and gluten-intolerant folks out there, stop what you’re doing and listen up right now. The Attic serves gluten-free banana bread with carob molasses and creme fraiche. That is all. As you were.
Just when you thought banana bread couldn’t get any better, Sayers Sister went right ahead and made chocolate banana bread served with maple butter. Yes please.
The banana bread at Voyage is beyond amazing—homemade, served with vanilla mascarpone, banana and maple syrup. Nom nom.
These guys don’t do anything by halves. When you order Tropico’s banana bread, you don’t just get bread on plate—oh no, you get organic banana bread with spiced bananas, honeycomb and coconut meringue. AND they do a gluten free option. Great work, guys! Just a real solid effort.
