Known for their tough livers and love of potatoes, the Irish know how to have a good time. So it only seems right that we give you guys the lowdown on where to eat, drink and be merry this Friday for St Patrick’s Day in Perth.
Don your green get-ups and settle in for the long haul with a beef and Guinness pie and a pint of dark brew, cause it’s gonna be a looooong day, to be sure, to be sure.
Apparently JB O’Reilly’s sells more Guinness than anywhere else in Australia, so it seems like a top notch place to celebrate St Pat’s day. Start as early as 7am with a buffet breakfast, or book yourself in for a special St Patrick’s Day lunch with loads of Guinness.
With food and drinks specials all day, prizes and giveaways and loads of live entertainment—including Irish dancers—you’ll want to get yourself to Paddy Maguire’s in Subiaco this Friday. They’ll be opening at 9am for breakfast so you might as well head there early!
Fibber McGee's will be opening nice and early at 10:30am so you can get on the Guinness as soon as you finish your morning coffee—and you might as well make that Irish too. There will be Irish dancers and a full Irish breakfast available from 10:30am until 5pm. Mmmm blood sausage.
Kick off St Pat’s day with a bang at Rosie O’Grady’s. Starting at 10am there will be plenty of food specials and giveaways, and of course plenty of Guinness.
St Patrick’s Raceday
It’s the first ever Friday race day at Ascot and there will be plenty of people here counting on the luck of the Irish. Gates open at 12pm and the final race is at 5:40pm so you’ll want to take the afternoon off to enjoy the Guinness and Kilkenny on tap and a beef and Guinness pie or two.
Durty Nelly’s are putting on a full Irish brekky for only $26 so even if you have to work on Friday you can still celebrate. They’ll also have Irish drink specials, prizes and giveaways all day as well as live entertainment from 10:30am.
The Mighty Quinn
A firm favourite among the Irish in Perth, The Mighty Quinn will have live music and Irish dancing from 12pm as well as a special Gaelic menu available from 11am to 9pm.
If you’re in Guildford, head to The Woody for live entertainment, a pint of Guinness and a beef and Guinness pie. Yum.
Ivy & Jack
Delicious steak and Guinness pies with colcannon mash, crushed peas and bacon are on offer at Ivy & Jack so if you find yourself in the CBD on Friday head here for a good feed and some Guinness. These guys are also doing Irish coffee during the day. Winning.
The Inglewood Hotel
The Inglewood Hotel are doing beef and Guinness pies and a pint for only $30 as well as loaded curry fries and a pint for just $16! There will also be plenty of giveaways and Irish tunes to keep you entertained.
