We may be a long way from Sicily, but lucky for us, there are plenty of spots dishing out authentic Italian eats in Perth! We know you love your pizza and pasta, but it’s time to shed some light on the humble cannoli. Fried pastry tubes filled with sweet creamy custard or ricotta. Oh yes. These restaurants and shops are hand making this Sicilian treat the traditional way: quality ingredients and a little bit of TLC so it’s all la dolce vita baby!
Here’s where to get the best cannoli in Perth.
The Re Store
Leederville and Northbridge
After you’ve created the ultimate continental roll for lunch, it’s only fair you take a little afternoon snack with you too. The Re Store makes it easy for you to justify treats in all shapes and sizes, but once you try the cannoli you’ll never look back.
There are four reasons why Monsterella is our go-to. 1) it’s BYO; 2) the handmade pasta; 3) the incredible wood-fired pizza; 4) you can finish the night with a big ol’ pile of some of the best cannoli in Perth.
Who says cannoli is strictly reserved for dessert? Given Corica opens at 8am, we’re there for breakfast (and buying extras for later, obvs). Winning over our Perth hearts and taste buds since 1957, they've had plenty of time to perfect their recipe. Delizioso!
It's not surprising that when the guys behind Il Lido open a pizza place, they put some seriously epic cannoli on the menu, is it? Well played Canteen, well played.
One thing’s for sure, overconsumption at Bottega is unavoidable. And just in case you can’t get enough at their Market Street cafe, catering is always an option. A delivered box of fresh cannoli? Umm, why haven’t we thought of this sooner!?
The Black Truffle
The Black Truffle is the shop you dream to own, live next to or know the owner of. Filled to the brim with all the beautiful things, it’s no surprise their vanilla bean custard cannoli is as delicious as everything else taunting our eyes from the cabinet.
Cantina does a lemon and ricotta cannoli and just like everything else on their menu, it's drool-worthy. It's the perfect mid-afternoon pick me.
Like we needed another reason to lurk around Angove street, but of course, we found one. Fiorentina has earned their reputation for the most gorgeous handmade Italian treats since 1974. We’re feeling kindle, coffee and cannoli and we’re feeling it on a weekly basis.
Dolcetto Patisserie & Cafe
We know it’s hard to go past the custom cakes from Dolcetto so repeat after us: one giant cannoli tower cake please. It’s like all your Italian Christmas dreams coming to life. Buon Natale!
Casa Del Dolce
If you plan on devouring multiple flavoured cannoli just so you can Instagram #holycannoli, then Casa Del Dolce is the place to do it (and we will not judge you). The only regret you’ll have is not discovering this Lake Street treasure sooner!
Dolce And Salato
Morley, Fremantle & Cockburn
Chocolate filled cannoli with pistachio cream tickle your fancy? Us to. So much so that our jeans are feeling a little tight. The tasting plate is the only way to get over the indecision that is the cannoli cabinet. So. Many. Choices.
