You can’t fault this beautiful city of ours. There’s the glorious, long and hot summer days, the pristine beaches, the next-level cafes, restaurants and bars—and speaking of—we’ve found four more to add to your already burgeoning list.
They’ve all set up shop in the CBD on the corner of Hay and King Streets and they’re offering a whole lot of Spanish flavours, European charm, sophistication and some really, really good food.
It’s time to say goodbye for now to your old faithfuls and check out your new coffee, date night, tapas and sweet treat spots!
Re-live the best part about your last trip to Portugal every single day at Graffiti, the latest and greatest coffee and lunch spot to pop up in the Perth CBD. A coffee window and gourmet-to-go foodie haven, Graffiti offers up a whole lot of urban vibes with some uber cool street art on the walls, as well as a menu that features artisan coffee from Blacklist Coffee Roasters, scrumptious barbacoa buns (which are as delicious as they are affordable) and, of course, plenty of Portuguese tarts to go around. Your trips to the CBD just got a heck-load better!
Welcome to your new Friday night local! Heno & Rey knows how to put on an epic Spanish tapas spread, not to mention their cocktails are incredible. Boasting a raw bar, the finest WA wines, sangria on tap and churros, the reinvented tapas bar offers up a vibrant atmosphere you’ll never want to leave. Pretend you’re in Spain and join your friends for a night of cheese and cured meats, croquettes, jugs of sangria and all of the churros, Spanish doughnut balls and Portuguese tarts you can handle.
If your date nights have become a little stale (there is only so much Netflix and chilling one can handle), we’ve got the solution for you! Ascua is a brand spanking new restaurant (opening 8 November) with a whole lot of Spanish sophistication. Let the sommelier guide you through the wine menu as you watch the chefs work their magic on the woodfire grill in the open kitchen. Once you’ve worked up an appetite from all of the theatrics it’s time to devour some WA dry-aged beef cooked on said woodfire grill. The best bit? In true European style, every table gets free sparkling or still water, freshly baked stone bread with Cooladerra olive oil, a marinated carrot salad and hand-picked olives. How’s that for hospitality?!
Do you enjoy cocktails with a side of cake? Well, step right up, we’ve found a lounge and bar offering just that and it’s called The Loft. Overlooking King and Hay Streets in the CBD, The Loft is your new go-to for high tea with a side of sophistication. Think raspberry and frangipane tartlets, white chocolate and passionfruit cake, house made cookies and chocolate pralines, plus wine, beer and classic cocktails which will knock your socks off. We’ll see you there!
