If you’ve been searching for a killer casual dining spot with spectacular views you can stop looking because West is here.
Part of the KU DE TA precinct in East Perth, West offers diners all of the relaxed vibes with a spectacular food and drinks menu that’ll delight all of your taste buds.
Whether you choose to sit indoors and marvel at the chefs doing their thing in the open kitchen or outdoors watching the sun go down, you’re definitely going to want to order some charcuterie and seafood to kick things off.
Fresh, local produce is the star of the show at West, and we can’t get enough of their local cold cuts served with mustard and pickles, as well as the smoked kingfish sashimi with mandarin and furikake. And if you’re an oyster fan, theirs will be your jam; not only are they huge, they’re fresh as can be and come with a variety of tasty vinaigrettes.
Moving onto the more substantial shares, the fried squid with sobrasada and ink sauce is a standout and we have love heart eyes for the crispy skin barramundi. Add to that the wagyu skirt steak served with a creamy, buttery sauce and potato scallops and your stomach will be rumbling no more. Until you see the dessert menu, that is.
The Dickens ice cream sandwich is so good the pastry chef went and put his face on it—akin to a painter signing his best work. Milk ice cream is sandwiched between two chocolate biscuits, then half dipped in a chocolate praline mix. You won’t want to share this one, folks.
And in case you haven’t heard, the drinks are top notch at all of KU DE TA’s venues. West serves all the best vinos and beers, and their cocktails are delightful. You’ll be hard pressed choosing between the Honey, I’m Home (Limeburners karri honey liqueur, Applejack and orange) and the Peach Better Have My Money (Pampero Blanco white rum, pineapple, cranberry, peach, thyme and prosecco), so avoid decision fatigue and get both!
West is open from 11am to late, seven days a week, so make a booking now and head down there with a bunch of your besties for some of the best eats, drinks and views in Perth.
