Hosier Lane is one of Melbourne's busiest tourist attractions, you'd be hard-pressed to find a time when you walk past it and it's not absolutely packed with people checking out the amazing art that adorns its walls. Sometimes you'll even catch work being produced on the spot.
Over the weekend a group of masked vandals sprayed Hosier Lane's walls with fire extinguishers filled with paint, completely covering most of the murals currently present in the lane.
Per 3AW, it's been said the group of ten vandals brought at least two video cameras with them, and a drone to document their attack. No doubt the video will surface soon.
The group also sprayed the laneways iconic cobblestones with paint.
City Of Melbourne clean up crews have already been through the laneway this morning to clean up what they can.
We'll update this article as more information comes through.
