They say good things come in small packages, and based on Woombye's cute-as-a-button cafe called Winnie, we’d wholeheartedly agree. There’s a couple of tables inside, a sweets and bread stand, a coffee station, and an impressively small kitchen space where the most stunning dishes you’ve ever laid eyes on are pulled together. Outside, there’s a deck space shaded by big umbrellas, where we could totally imagine gathering our mates for a weekend catch-up over cups of Vintage Black coffee (soy, almond, and lactose-free milk are all available).
The all-day brunch menu is a more refined version of what’s on offer at Little Boat Espresso (yep, Winnie is owned by the same folks!), but you’ll be more than equipped to spoil your belly with the likes of rose water coconut sago with pistachios, Woombye figs, basil and spiced syrup; the brioche with nitrate-free bacon, free range eggs, chipotle mayo and house-made dill pickles; or, the granola with piped Barambah yoghurt panna cotta, poached stone fruit and mint. Our fave though, has gotta be the smashed avo with house-marinated feta, local herbs and radish on toast. Put simply, if you want a boring brekkie, you’ve come to the wrong spot.
