We’ve nearly survived a quarter of 2018 (we know—terrifying) and much like the weather, we can’t decide how we feel. Nevertheless, this weekend’s going off with a bang. ARTBAR is back with another exciting line up of artists, music and performances. This month it’s curated by Melbourne artist Salote Tawale who draws inspiration from her personal experiences of race, class, ethnicity and gender, having grown up in Fiji. The Other Art Fair
You’ve spent all month looking at art and now’s your opportunity to finally buy some. Presented by Saatachi Art, The Other Art Fair’s opening party is on this Thursday and it’ll be showcasing some of the best emerging artists going around. With a killer bunch of activities like a live digital painting by Cara Jane Diffey, performances by Show Us Your Teeth and a special appearance by ELK—there’s no way you’ll leave disappointed. Wine Night At Machiavelli Ristorante Italiano
Surely there’s no better way to end a long week at work than with a bottle of wine or two—It’s Friday, who’s going to judge you? No really, point them out. We’d like to have a word with these people. TWT Creative Precinct Block Party
It’s nearly the end of Art Month and you know what that means: it’s also time for the annual TWT Creative Precinct Block party. There’ll be a bunch of exhibitions, performances and artists studios open to explore on the night. And as well as the official opening of the Bakedown Cakery (our inner chocoholic is very excited) and a roller disco, there’s no doubt you will have fun wandering the trail through St Leonards. Earth Hour Dinner
If Three Blue Ducks know about one thing (okaaaaay, two), it’s food and sustainability. This year, in celebration of Earth Hour, they’re turning out the lights and cooking up an epic feast via fire and gas only so yes, there’ll be no electric ovens or gas fryers in use people. The entire restaurant will be lit by candles and the menu will feature BBQ wallaby, BBQ lamb with a charred herb salsa, whole wood-roasted rainbow trout and more. This one will be delicious AF.
