Lucky for you guys Sydney is delivering on all fronts this week. Get ready for trampolines (you’re intrigued, aren’t you?), a Michelin Star dinner, the world’s best steak, and even a bit of exercise, because, balance.
Here are the top 5 things to do in Sydney this week.
Monday 15 May
Trampolining And Parkour workshop
Ever wondered how those crazy Olympians make trampolining skills look seamless? Well jump on board, because this trampolining workshop will give you all the practice you need. Get Sprung is bringing high-energy sessions led by professionals Johnas Liu and Liam Lind, so you can learn the foundation moves of Parkour, and test your twists and tumbles through a combination of gymnastics and trampolining. Catch ya on the flip-side!
Where: The Red Box Lilyfield, 91 Canal Road
When: A series of four workshops on Mondays 6:30-8:30pm
Tuesday 16 May
SOFA 2 SURF
Sorry to break it to you, but this event doesn’t involve sitting on your sofa. The team at Flow Athletic are setting us goals, starting with a twelve-week training program to get you City2Surf ready. Whether you run like Phoebe from friends, or you’re the kind that makes it look easy (please tell us, whhhhhy aren’t you sweating!?), this is one for runners of all levels. Plus, you get $249 worth of Upside apparel, entry to the race, and admission to the after-party—and we’re pretty sure you’ll get fit too. To get started just flick them an email and then it'll be all run, Forest, run!
Where: Flow Athletic
When: Saturday May 27- Saturday June 24
Brewhouse Shala Yoga
Do yoga they said. There’ll be beer they said. Brewhouse Shala has just launched one-hour Yoga classes followed by a pint of craft beer from Rocks Brewing. This is not a joke. We repeat, this is not a joke. When you think of balance in yoga, it’s normally someone standing on their head, but beer and yoga is the kind balance we can get behind (if it’s not before the class).
Where: Rocks Brewing Co Alexandria, 160 Bourke Road
When: Multiple dates, 6pm
Wednesday 17 May
Three Blue Ducks X Chef Hatted Dinner
We’re hop-timistic about this one. Chef Daniel Burns is hosting this one at Three Blue Ducks in Roseberry, and this guy knows his beers. Hailing from Brooklyn, Burns founded Luksus at Tørst, and ICYMI this is the only restaurant in the world to receive a Michelin star—and they only serve beer. His exclusive dinner in Sydney will be no different; with up to three-courses paired with beers by The Stomping Ground Brewery. Beer O’clock starts at 6:30pm, better hop to it!
Where: Three Blue Ducks Rosebery, 1/85 Dunning Avenue, Rosebery
When: Wednesday May 17, 6:30pm
Gourmet Dinner Session @ Charring Cross Hotel
Four-course meal + world’s best steak = an equation even we can tackle. As part of the Charing Cross Hotel’s Gourmet Dinner Series, Tamworth-based beef producer, Jack’s Creek (holder of the ‘World’s Best Steak’ crown, no biggie) is paring up with Head Chef, Stephen Scott for a night of #foodmagic. Meat & greet (we went there) with the co-founder of Jack’s Creek, David Wormoll, who’ll be answering all your rare (we’ll stop now) questions. Get the deets here.
Where: Charing Cross Dining Room Waverly, Charing Cross Hotel, 81 Carrington Road,
When: Wednesday 17 May, 7pm
Cost: $85 per person for a four-course menu
