Who is ready and waiting for the weekend to come rollin’ in?! This weekend we have come up with some killer restaurants in Sydney that are well worth visiting, and are guaranteed to fulfil your weekend eating needs.
Mosman and North Sydney
Oysters, you either love them or you don’t and for those who do, this is the place for you! Boasting two waterfront locations in Sydney, Cala Luna has launched a flight of freshly shucked oyster varieties matched to premium wine. For just $39 you can try three different types of oysters, matched to three different types of wines. This shucking great deal is only available until the end of May, so make sure you book a spot now via their website.
So we’ve gone from the cronut to the cruffin and now the savoury creation, the snagel! The guys at Brooklyn Hide have decided to put a snag in their bagel and call it the snagel. And they aren’t just using regular sausages here, folks. They’ve got the Sausage Queen, Chrissy’s Cuts’ beef brisket with smuggled greens sausages to adorn the bagels. In addition to this gourmet snag, the bagel is topped with baked ricotta, cabbage salad and romesco sauce to create a sensational bagel. Who thought bagels could get any better? Unfortunately this little beauty is here for a limited time, so get one quick!
Garden Court Restaurant at Sofitel Wentworth
If you’re looking for an elegant dining experience, where a unique garden setting surrounds you with lush foliage in the heart of the city, this is the place for you. The Garden Court Restaurant offers high-end French dishes and wines, with the executive chef, Boris Cuzon even offering his own signature sharing board. It’s the perfect spot for a long lunch hidden away within the city. For a fancy pants private dining experience, book ‘The Captain’s Table’—it doesn’t get much cooler than that.
Another burger joint has graced our city and unsurprisingly we are pretty damn excited. Jimmy Hurlston, the founder of the famous Instagram account ‘Jimmy’s Burgers’, has opened up Guilty where he’s serving the ultimate trio—burgers, beers and cocktails. Tots to Life and pretzel crushed 5 Cheese Mac and Cheese are some of the sides offered on the menu as well as a whole array of burgers that are sure to blow your mind.
Daniel San is a modern-fusion Japanese restaurant located practically right on Manly beach. This rock ‘n’ roll bar offers some amazing Japanese street food with sashimi coming at you in a cool wooden boat. These guys have something happening most nights, our favourite being Hotline Wing Thursday, where you can get yourself 1kg of wings for just $20! Oh, and of course the all you can eat dim sum for $24.50 on Wednesday nights, which they very rightly call ‘The Hump Day Dump Day’.
This cafe, located in Burwood Park, has been inspired by the classic family picnic. Its meals are beautifully created with literally every single one being ‘grammable. You can either dine in and enjoy the panacotta granola, or the Not-so-French toast coated in coco-pops served on a slice of watermelon OR you can treat yourself to a selection of their baked goods and sweet delicacies to take-away and enjoy in the park. You can even pre-order a picnic basket full of delectable goodies.
