And, yet again, here we are waiting for the weekend eating festivities to begin! What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than treating your Mum (and yourself, of course) to some of these delicious cafes and restaurants in Sydney. 

Pasticceria Caruso 

Wetherill Park 

It is an absolute must that you try Pasticceria Caruso’s signature creation—the bazooka cannoli! It is a serious masterpiece that is almost too epic to eat. The bazooka is perfect for any occasion (ummm, hello Mother’s Day?!) and can be ordered online on via their website. Located in Wetherill Park, this patisserie has all sorts of delightful cakes that are sure to tickle your fancy if a mountain of cannolis is a little too much for you to handle.

The Swanson


Whether you’re looking for a fancy dining experience, or a classic pub feed, this place has it all. The Swanson Hotel recently opened their upstairs dining room and cocktail bar, with executive chef, Brad Sloane, creating simple but refined dishes. For those who still need to organise their Mother’s Day plans, The Swanson is putting on a three-course meal this Sunday available for either lunch or dinner in their newly furbished dining room. 

Ironwood Coffee


When a place serves breakfast all day, you know it has its priorities straight. Being extremely passionate about their coffee, Ironwood purchases only the finest organic and fair-trade estate coffee beans. As well as serving all day breakfast, they have an endless amount of Italian and Greek dishes on offer for lunch and dinner—if you like options, this is the place for you. Oh, and did we mention they serve all day breakfast? 

Osteria Balla Manfredi


With views across the water and modern interiors, Osteria Balla Manfredi is a beautiful place to dine within The Star. The chef, Stefano Manfredi, has used his knowledge of his homeland and traditional regional cuisine to create an Italian menu focussing on sustainable fresh seasonal produce. Plating up an antipasti plate of cecin al forno, chickpea and pecorino pancake, or ciabatta with mushrooms and cured pork, this restaurant in Sydney is one to add to your bucket list. 



Everyone is taco’ing about it! Mejico’s signature smashed guacamole and corn lollipops cannot be missed, as well as their scallop ceviche, watermelon salad, slow braised pork tacos, sticky plantain pudding… basically their whole menu. We’re drooling just typing about it. If you just want to leave it to the pros, Mejico offers a “feed me” option where you can sit back and relax and let the chef decide on the dishes.

Woolwich Pier Hotel 


The Woolwich Pier’s autumn menu is filled with warm and hearty meals. With mains like the duck pappardelle, pulled chicken burger, chicken and leek pot pie or the Huon Valley salmon pie, you are going to have a hard time deciding. Offering chocolate and hazelnut pudding and Eton mess, the Pier has taken their pub menu to the next level.
