Here’s Where To Grab Japanese Hot Dogs And Tinnies This Weekend

By Holly Kingston - 25 Oct 2018

Oh hot-diggity-dawg do we have a Sunday session for you. Over one glorious day, the legends at Redfern Surf Club will be dishing up tasty Ume Dogs from Bar Ume and $5 tinnies in a pop-up we never knew we needed in our lives until right now.

That’s right, the crew who brought us that equally scrumptious Japanese fusion burger will be slinging out Japanese-inspired hotdogs which, of course, were a highlight at their launch at Melbourne’s HWKR food hall earlier this year.

For just 20 bucks you can send yourself into a beautifully-induced food coma with wood-smoked frankfurts on a soft steamed bun. Oh, and no dog is complete without pickled wakame, curry mayo, tonkatsu sauce, arare (delish soy and rice snow crackers) and bonito flakes. All available among others to top-til-you-drop at the condiment bar.

The much-loved new Australiana-themed local bar will also be slinging out $5 tinnies all day so you can wash down those dogs in true backyard style. Brews are yet to be confirmed but these legends are known to pour some ripper Aussie cold ones, such as The Grifter Brewing Co’s Pale Ale, Batch and Young Henry’s.

These guys will be ‘letting the dogs out’ from 12:30pm. Head here for more.
