The Star is hosting an 11-night Lunar New Year party and it’s kicking off this weekend. This is the third glorious year that the hawker-style market has come to Sydney and as usual, there’ll be live entertainment, outdoor bars and street food stalls serving up delicious lunar-themed goods.
Some of Sydney’s best foodie favourites are coming to the party, with POKLOL—otherwise known as the street food wizards—bringing Korean barbecue tacos, Chur Burger serving up an Asian themed burger—the Hoisin Goin Bro—see what they did there? The burger starts as you’d expect, with a grilled beef patty and BBQ sauce, before ending with some serious five-spice glazed bacon and spicy pickles.
Black Star Pastry and N2 Extreme Gelato have also joined forces to pimp the popular watermelon cake with firecracker feuilletines, a rooster macaron and Chinese herbal syrup syringe. Let’s just say, the next 11 nights are going to require your very best stretchy pants.
