A Japanese Food Festival Is Finally Coming To Sydney

Japanese Food Festival Sydney

The festival of your dreams is about to happen IRL because the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival is coming to town and that means all things Japanese food are coming too.

For two weeks this August, the Auburn Botanic Gardens will transform into a mini Tokyo, with sumo wrestling, silent discos and cherry blossoms in full bloom (obvs) so you can up your ‘gram game and pretend you’re travelling the world.

The best part? There will be food. And plenty of it. Local faves like Mr Bao, Mavericks Wings and Shiso Fine will be cooking up a storm and you’ll have the chance to wrap your lips around as much noodles, sashimi and chicken karaage as you want. Rumour on the street is that there will even be Japanese inspired hot dog by the legends at J Dogs…

When you hit full food coma mode, you can head over to the Izakaya Bar to wash it all down with an Asahi or sake, then seat yourself in front of Adam Liaw of Masterchef fame and learn how to make it all at home. Or you could just take a sneaky nap then do it all over again.
