An Italian Food & Wine Festival is coming to Sydney in August and you'll find us strolling through The Cutaway at Barangaroo, espresso in one hand and oversized ricotta-stuffed cannoli in the other, checking out the goods.
Yep, Sydney is going full Italiano, which means celebrating all of the things that end in –ucci, –ella, –ini or –ina. It’s okay if your Italian accent is a little rusty; pointing and miming extreme hunger is totally fine. This year’s line-up is pretty nuts too: look out for Adam Swanson (Lot. 1 Sydney), Giovanni Pilu (Pilu at Freshwater) and Nino Zoccali (Pendolino) dishing up pizza and pasta just like Nonna used to make (if Nonna was an award-winning gastronomy expert), plus pop-up restaurants from OTTO, Mantecato, and Buon Ricordo.
Need a sweetener? The Marketplace comes fully stocked with nosh from That’s Amore Cheese, Prosciutto di Parma, Rivereno Gelato, and Vinotopia. Bellissimo. Mwah.
