Some people say sparkling wine is a celebration-only beverage. We say those people are wrong. So very, very wrong. Sparkling wine is the perfect accompaniment to pepperoni pizza, Friday afternoon desk drinks and even a quiet night in watching Stranger Things.

Thankfully, the legends at Bar Machiavelli are as into sparkling wine as we are and they're bringing a festival dedicated to its deliciousness later this year. Showcasing over 100 wines from all over Italy, this two day celebration of all things Italian sparkling should be added to your October calendar, stat.

With masterclasses hosted by Sydney’s top somms, wine tastings, regional foods imported direct from Italy (did someone say white truffles from Piedmont?!) and the world’s largest provolone from Emilia-Romagna, you’ll want to come thirsty and very hungry to this festival.

Wrapping up the festivities will be a very special degustazione dinner on the Monday evening which will involve six-courses of regional Italian cuisine, perfectly matched with eleven sparkling wines. Yes. Eleven. You’ll be sure to leave the evening full, happy and with an even better knowledge of the wine and food from Italy.

If you love Italian sparkling wine as much as we do, you’ll want to buy tickets ASAP. We’ll see you there, wine glass in hand. Salute!
