An Island Wine Festival Comes To Sydney

Island Wine Festival Sydney

Imagine being stranded on an island, with nothing but wine. No, it’s not a dream, it’s a beautiful reality. And it can become your reality come November.

2016 marks the second year in a row for Wine Island, an event that ships off a bunch of Sydney’s residents to its very own oasis on Clark Island where they’re subject to sample a range of luxurious wines, freshly shucked oysters, cheeses and even burgers from the likes of Banksii Vermouth Bar & Bistro, Oysters Unplugged, Chur Burger and The Hunter Valley Cheese Factory. Oh, what an ordeal.

This year, the organisers have promised it will be even bigger and better than the previous festival, with the addition of a silent disco and a Dessert Island bar where sweet wines are matched with sweeter treats and prosecco flows freely. This is the island Survivor contestants wished they ended up on.

There’ll also be masterclasses on site AND a sparkling wine road (yes, that’s a thing) where you can indulge in prosecco and other Italian varieties from Pizzini, Dal Zotto, Sam Miranda, Chrismont and Brown Brothers. Playing a bit of bocce while learning all about sparkling wine (and tasting it, of course)? Sounds like our idea of heaven.

Don’t miss out on the wine event of the year. Tickets go on sale on the 1st of September with a choice of either general admission or VIP, which we’re assured is a full 7-star holiday experience.
