There’s never a bad time for a beer, particularly a good beer. And that’s why we’re clearing our diaries for the month of September, with news that our mates at Beer The Beautiful Truth are bringing a pop-up beer event of epic proportions to Sydney (seriously, what bloody legends).
Kicking off from August 30 and running for two weeks from Wednesday through Sunday, The Dining Table will see ten of the city’s best chefs team up to throw 10-days of pop-up dinners and tasting bars, designed to show off the best of beer and food pairings. Need we say more?
While tickets to the sit-down dinners have officially sold-out, the bar will accept limited walk-ins daily from 5pm, where you can get a taste of the bar menu, paired with matching beers including all your favourites (think: James Squire Hop Thief No. 8 American Pale Ale and Hahn Superdry).
Chefs taking part in The Dining Table include Apollo’s Stefano Marano, Cho Cho San’s Nicholas Wong, Bar Brosé’s Adam Wolfers, Good Luck Pinbone’s Jemma Whiteman and Mike Eggert, Bodega’s Joel Humphreys, LP Meats chef Luke Powell, Est.’s Jacob Davey, Acme’s Mitch Orr, Buffalo Dining’s Marcelo Garrao and Peter Kypreos, plus Porteno’s Ben Milgate and Elvis Abrahanowic.
Bar menu highlights include pinbone chicken sliders (by Jemma Whiteman and Mike Eggert), ocean trout tartare with fermented chilli paste and wild rice (by Nic Wong), spiced blood sausage (by Luke Powell), smoked chicken wings with adobe sauce (by Ben Milgate and Elvis Abrahanowic), baloney sandwich (by Mitch Orr) and pork jowl, apple & cucumber (by Stefano Marano). Drool.
And because we love you guys, we're also giving away a $500 dinner for two at Est. in Sydney which includes a meet-and-greet with Head Chef Jacob Davey! Plus, we’re topping off the prize with a $500 MoCu voucher (#win!). To enter, click here.
