As the weather fiiiiinally heats up, so does Sydney’s social calendar. With the excitement of a brand spanking new season upon us, what better way to celebrate than with not one, but five, awesome things to add to this week diary.

The Oaks Meat Masterclass

For those of you who can’t tell the difference between a sirloin and a scotch fillet or pancetta and prosciutto, this week’s meat masterclass is for you. Make no misteak (see what we did there?), this is a gastronomic event you won’t want to miss! Enjoy four courses prepared by Danny Russo, a man whose food has been described as intriguing and damn right are we intrigued. Each course will be paired with Oatley fine wines, whilst Havericks welcomes you into the world of meat.

Where: The Oaks Hotel Garden Pavillion – 118 Military Road, Neutral Bay
When: Wednesday 31st August, 6:45pm – 9:00pm
Cost: $85pp

Salaryman x Rice Paper Scissors

Dark colours and eating with your hands are encouraged at this Salaryman and Rice Paper Scissors event, which means that for those of us who have a whole lot of trouble using chopsticks, no one will notice. Because we all know that sharing is caring, the six courses are best enjoyed between two or more people, so bring your friends. This delicious excuse to eat with your hands incorporates flavours and influences from all over Asia, which means one thing, prepare those buds for a good serving of deliciousness.

Where: Salaryman – 52-54 Albion Street, Surry Hills
When: Monday 29th August, 5:30pm – 8:30pm
Cost: $45pp (not including drinks). Bookings advised but walk-ins welcome.

The Campari Remixed Bartender Competition

The grand finale will see the Campari Dream Team battle it out against the in-house Clare Bar team to create the ultimate twist on Campari Classic cocktails. Whose side are you on? There will also be a live DJ from 6pm to mark the end of an awesome month.

Where: The Old Clare Hotel – 1 Kensington Street, Chippendale
When: Wednesday 31st August, live DJ from 6:00pm

Find Pokeburgers

It seems that walking with our heads in our phones is now a thing of the past, and that right now it’s all about eating Pokémon. Although it sounds a little creepy, it really isn’t because the team at Hashtag Burgers is bringing a Pokeburger pop up to Sydney. Prepare to battle though, as the limited edition Pokeburgers will be distributed randomly, meaning you could get Jigglypuff or Wigglytuff to eat (rest assured both will be equally tasty).

Luke Nguyen Street Food Pop-Up At The Star

The Star will be shining extra brightly for the next three months thanks to Luke Nguyan’s South East Asian street fare pop-up! Without hopping on a flight, we’ll be able to enjoy the rich, fresh and exotic flavours of Bangkok, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur, which will make our tastebuds incredibly happy. Lucky for us, the dishes will change weekly to coincide with his new TV series, which leaves us with the option to eat allll of the food. Yay!
