things to do in Sydney

Looking for things to do in Sydney this week? You’ve come to the right place. As always, the city’s got us hooked with new and exciting adventures to enjoy and possibly (but definitely) document on Instagram/Snapchat. This week we’re thinking fitness gurus, professional jokesters, champagne artists, Spanish heartthrobs and afternoon leafy individuals.

Sydney Comedy Festival

Set to bring tidal waves of laughter to our city slickin’ shores, save some room in the schedule for the 12th annual Sydney Comedy Festival—three weeks of hilarious madness masked in surprising dad jokes, anecdotal fails, stand-up geniuses and perfectly executed improvisational kafuffle by top comedians from Australia and abroad. Kicking off this Monday, snag a seat at crowd favourites Akmal, Alex Williamson, Demi Lardner, Neel Kolhatkar and Peter Helliar as you laugh and cry and cry-laugh again to your hearts content. Comedy big names not your strongpoint? Dip your toe into the festival’s Yo Mamma Battle, Comedian’s Against Humanity or even a sneaky Tinder musical. Yes it’s a thing. #trytheveal

Queenie’s Stoner dinner

To celebrate all things blazed and beautiful, this International 420 Day Queenies is transforming its Jamaican joint into a five course munchies mayhem, coined and coned in the name of iconic leaf-lover Bob Marley. The first of their annual ‘Stoner Sessions’, go-getters can expect some pretty crazy concoctions. Pizza wrapped yoghurt and hot sauce kebabs, followed by a tikka masala takeaway pack and freakily delicious fried doughnuts with maple bacon custard and maple chilli peanut sauce. Wash it down with a couple of stellar milkshakes, booze infused slushies and a few surprise drinks along the way. With places limited, grab a spot quick for a food trip like no other here.

Le Jardin by Perrier-Jouët

The Garden of Eden meets Sydney’s urban wonderland at Le Jardin—a picturesque, enchanting take on champagne at The Winery in Surry Hills. Made from the finest and strongest line of only seven cellar masters since 1811, Perrier-Jouët oozes the perfect mix of opulence, detail and all-round Frenchy je ne sais quoi, which is found more than true in the perfection of its Champagne. Traditional with a hint of modern flair, we’re sure this bubbly would’ve tickled the fancy of both Blair Waldorf and Marie Antoinette. One thing we do know for sure—we’ve got a new drink of choice.
