Oh Sydney, how we love you and your never ending foodie events. They say Melbourne is Australia's food capital, but do they have a free Messina Gelato bar this week? We didn’t think so. Sydneysiders, these are the things you should be checking out this week.

National Rum Day At Bistrot Gavroche
Fun fact: our favourite French spot in the city, Bistrot Gavroche, is actually in an old Rum warehouse. So what better place to celebrate National Rum Day than at this restaurant in Sydney? You’ll get to try four of the best rums that the French and their colonies have to offer and, if you’re one of those people who will use just about any excuse to add a bit of booze to your food, then the Rum Baba with chocolate mousse, Speculoos and spiced rum is probably for you.

When: Tuesday 16th August
Cost: $30 for the Rum Flight
Helga’s ‘Say It With Sandwiches’

Kicking off on Monday with salami, ricotta, eggplant and semi sundried tomatoes on Helga’s Mixed Grain bread, every single one of the daily menu options is guaranteed to get you actually feeling excited for lunch. The best part? All the proceeds go to Foodbank—which means you’re doing good by eating delicious sandwiches. Win! There are only 100 available each day though, so get in quick!

Campari x Messina Gelato Bar
Big news, people... Campari and Messina have come together to make possibly the night of our dreams. Campari are throwing a month long epic Rediscover Red party at The Old Clare Hotel and, for one night only, they’re serving up complimentary (yes, you read that right... it’s free) Campari flavoured Messina. We’re thinking this is quite possibly the most exciting thing to happen to Sydney since well, ever.
Where: The Clare Bar, The Old Clare Hotel
When: Wednesday 17th August, 6-8pm
Moore Park Produce Market Tour
Chur Burger is definitely one of our fave spots to pick up a burger in Sydney. This Wednesday you can find out just what makes them so good at the Moore Park Produce Market. Chur Burger chef Warren Turnbull is featured at the market this week, and will be leading a guided tour, cooking demo and Q&A so we can try and find out all his secrets. 15 spots are available for you to get an insight into the market produce that makes Chur Burger one of the best. There’s a different chef featured each week, so check the website for more.
Where: Moore Park Produce Market, 122 Lang Road, Moore Park
When: Wednesday 17th August, The market runs from 8am - 2pm but get in early to get a spot in the tour! The cooking demo is at 11:30 if early starts aren't for you.
