Shopping and food are obviously two of our favourite things, so it makes us do a little happy dance when Sydney delivers us both all in the same week.
Here are five of the most awesome things to do in our fair city this week.
Harpoon Harry x Contra
We’ve loved the ‘Friends of Harry’s’ series at Harpoon Harry and part four is the most anticipated yet, with Manhattan’s Fabian Von Hauske and Jeremiah Stone coming alllll the way to Sydney to show off their exceptional talent and cute bromance. Both are the chef-owners of the Lower East Side’s Contra and Wildair and will be taking over the Harpoon Harry Dining Room on Monday 22nd August and Tuesday 23rd August. Hailed as two of the Top 10 Chefs to Watch in 2016, Von Hauske and Stone will be serving Australian seafood with a modern American twist and we simply cannot wait.
Book your spot here.
Where: Harpoon Harry – 40/44 Wentworth Avenue, Surry Hills
When: Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd August, from 7.00pm

Fashion With A Conscience
Ladies and gentlemen, round up, round up, because this week, we give you permission to shop ‘til you drop. Our beloved Salvo Stores are launching Fashion with a Conscience to coincide with National Op Shop Week (yep, it’s a thing, and something we can definitely get behind). National Op Shop Week encourages customers to reuse, recycle and reinvent fashion by shopping at their local Salvos store. The Darlinghurst store will feature a Salvos Capsule Wardrobe, which will showcase and inspire stylish outfits for all occasions. You can also vote for your favourite capsule wardrobe with the chance to win a $500 gift card (to spend on more clothes, win). This Monday all Salvos Stores will be offering 50% off all pre-loved items. We love an excuse to shop more, so wallets at the ready, there’s bargains to be had.
National Op Shop Weeks runs from Sunday 21st August to Saturday 27th August at your local Salvos.
Where: Salvos Store – 33/6 Pelican Street, Darlinghurst
When: In-store events and the 50% off sale will take place on Monday 22nd August

Just when we thought we couldn’t love Aperitivo Month anymore, this week Brewtown Newtown is joining in on the fun at The Old Clare Hotel. The Rediscover Red Bar has been home to many a tasty treat since the start of August and this week will be no different, as Brewtown will be serving their famous Brewnuts with three Campari cocktail inspired ganache fillings. Is this even real life?

Mexican Cantina At Sweethearts Rooftop
Every-juan needs to get to Sweethearts Rooftop stat! Cantina Movil, our fave moveable snack bar, is joining forces with the Sydney rooftop venue to bring a little taste of Mexico to Kings Cross. Cantina’s famous burritos with Mexican slaw, pinto beans, cheese and chipotle as well as nachos, quesadillas and soft shell tacos will have you fiesta-ing (totes a word) all night long. And because you only live juan-ce, you’ll need to try Don Julio’s knock-your-socks off tequila cocktails.

A Squealing Soirée With Piggs Peake Wines
Woolloomooloo’s sustainable waterfront restaurant, Manta, will have you squealing in delight this Thursday at their special event hosted in conjunction with Pigg Peake Wines (anything to do with wine and we are there). We always appreciate a good pun and A Squealing Soirée with Piggs Peake Wines certainly delivers, as does the menu. Each dish will include a touch of pork matched with a Piggs Peake Wine from the Hunter Valley. If there was ever a time to get some pork on your fork, that time is now.
